Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is the use of medication, counseling and behavioral therapies for the treatment of substance use disorders. Through the proper use of prescription medications and a treatment plan, clients can be relieved from the withdrawals and cravings that come with substance use disorder.
Our Program
Apalachee Center’s MAT program addresses both medical and addiction services using medication, counseling and support services from a team that includes an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN), licensed practical nurse (LPN) and a certified addictions counselor.
Clients who begin MAT will have a pre-screening, full assessment, psychiatric evaluation and their first counseling session to set their treatment goals.

- Have a diagnosed opioid or alcohol use disorder
- Can attend appointments in person in Leon, Franklin, Gadsden, Jefferson, Liberty, Madison, Taylor or Wakulla Counties
