WHEN OUR COMMUNITY IS HURTING, APALACHEE CENTER’S 24/7 SUPPORT LINE IS
HERE AT 800-342-0774

TALLAHASSEE, FL — Apalachee Center joins our neighbors across Tallahassee in grieving
the violence near Florida A&M University’s Bragg Memorial Stadium on Saturday night. Our
hearts are with the people who were injured, especially the children, their families, the
FAMU family, and the first responders.

Apalachee Center has reached out to the Tallahassee Police Department, Leon County
Sheri􀆯’s O􀆯ice, and the City of Tallahassee to o􀆯er support wherever needed.
Many in our community know Apalachee Center’s Mobile Response Team as the people
who come to the scene in a crisis. We do provide that, and our team is ready to respond.
But our 24/7 HelpLine + MRT is for much more than emergencies. Anyone can call at any
time, at any level of mental health distress. A trained counselor will listen, help you sort
through what you’re feeling, and connect you to more support if you want it.

Reactions to a traumatic event like this are normal, and they can show up days or weeks
later. Reaching out early is a sign of strength, not weakness.

“This happened during a celebration, surrounded by families and children, and that leaves
a mark on our entire community,” said Dr. Jay Reeve, CEO of Apalachee Center. “Our
message is, if you’re struggling with mental health in the aftermath of this traumatic event,
our 24/7 support line is here for you at 800-342-0774.”
