The Governing Board of Directors of Apalachee Center presents the 1st Annual John Convertino Award of Excellence to Patricia Convertino. Ms. Convertino began her career at Apalachee Center in 1989, as a counselor in Evaluation & Admissions. Throughout her 24 year career at Apalachee, she has served with distinction as Hospital Clinical Director; Inpatient/Residential Services Director; Utilization Review Coordinator; Patient Safety Coordinator, and her current position of Administrative Services Director. Dr. Jay Reeve, Apalachee Center’s Chief Executive Officer, stated that “Patty Convertino is a model employee, a great leader, and a champion for stellar clinical care at Apalachee and throughout this region. I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this award, nor anyone whose career and commitment better exemplify the values of integrity and quality focus that the award honors.”
The John Convertino Award of Excellence honors the memory of John Convertino, who was an outstanding Apalachee Center leader for 26 years. Beginning his Apalachee career in 1980, Mr. Convertino was central part of Apalachee Center leadership until his death in 2009. Regarding Mr. Convertino, Dr. Reeve stated: “In his 14 years as Chief Administrative Officer, John set the standard for thoughtful, competent, and fair workplace performance.
He provided a model of unfailing integrity, quality focus, and caring for the entire community, and was an integral part of the Apalachee team until his untimely death in 2009.”
This award will be presented annually, by the Board of Directors, to the Apalachee Center employee who has demonstrated to their peers, supervisors and co-workers, the values that John Convertino exemplified in his work at Apalachee Center. Six outstanding employees were nominated and honored for this award: Nana Dan Azoumi; Patricia Convertino; Cynthia Craig; Diane Moore; Joann Nealy, and Cary Southern.
